Investigations on the genus Leptogium in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland revealed the occurrence of three interesting and rare taxa, viz L. rivale, L. magnussonii and L. burnetiae var. hirsutum. Their distribution and ecology is not yet satisfactorily known in Europe. The collections of the taxa date back to 1927, 1934, the late 1950s and 1960s.
