During our study of crustose lichens collected from Mt.Taibai, Shaanxi Province, we discovered an unusual species Orphniospora moriopsis (A. Massal.) D. Hawksw. It is characterized by the dark brown areolate thallus, black apothecia and brown spores. Orphniospora belongs to Fuscideaceae, Teloschistales, Lecanoromycetidae, Ascomycetes, Ascomycota (Kirk et al., 2001). The genus is reported from China for the first time. EndNote Read more...

A new species, Halecania ahtii, is described and illustrated. It is only known from the type locality in the Russian Far East. It is characterized by thin, very inconspicuous thallus consisting of small, dispersed areoles and most likely containing argopsin (identifi ed by fast orange-red reaction with P), as well as relatively small ascospores, and a lichenicolous habit on diff erent saxicolous host species on acidic rocks.
