Ramalin (γ-glutamyl-N'-(2-hydroxyphenyl) hydrazide), a nitrogen- containing lichen secondary metabolite, was isolated from Ramalina terebrata, an Antarctic lichen. Since then, it has attracted several researchers, thus leading to various research investigations exploring the pharmacological potential of Ramalin.
