Eight new taxonomic combinations are made for macrolichens that occur in North
America. These combinations attempt to improve the practicality of taxonomic revisions
resulting from molecular systematics. The new combinations are in the genera Bryoria,
Cetraria, Peltigera, Scytinium, and Sulcaria.
