Yoshimura I., Kurokawa S., Kinoshita Y., Yamamoto Y. & Miyaw (1994): Lichen substances in cultured lichens, Journ. Hattori Bot. Lab., 76: 249-261

Cultured lichens were used for chemical analysis. A few lichen substances were identified in the number of samples indicated in the parenthesis as follows: parietin (4), usnic acid with isousnic acid in some samples (9), and barbatic acid, squamatic acid, baeomycesic acid (1). The majority (61) of the samples contained unidentified substances and some samples (20) showed no significant peaks in HPLC. Parietin and its related substances are more easily synthesized in Xanthoria mycobionts similar to … EN Read more...

Jacobsen P. & Coppins B.J. (1989): On the identity of some "endemic" North German lichens, Nova Hedwigia, 49(3-4): 255-273

The type material of some poorly known lichen taxa described from northern Germany has been examined and revised. Bacidia saxenii and Lecidea polycarpella prove to be distinct species. Verrucaria latericola is an earlier name for the parasitic species so far known as Verrucaria granulosaria. The following species names are stated to be synonyms (accepted names on the right): Arthopyrenia lubecensis = A. inconspicua Bacidia abscondita = B. naegelii Bacidia egenula var. crassiuscula = B. subfuscula Bacidia … EN Read more...

Yoshimura I., Singh K. P. & Elix J. A. (1997): The genus Anzia (lichenized ascomycetes) in India, Journ. Hattori Bot. Lab., 82: 343-352

Three species of Anzia (Lecanorales, lichenized fungi), are reported from India. A. kohimana sp. nov. is described as a new species and A. physoidea Smith is typified. By comparison with the rich diversity of species of Anzia in south-eastern Asia, India is rather poorly represented and the species are rare in occurrence EN Read more...
