The lichens of the upper northern slopes and the peak of Veliki Snežnik, Slovenia have been investigated for the ftrst time. A total of 110 saxicolous, terricolous and muscicolous taxa (including five lichenicolous fungi) are recorded. Thirty-six taxa are reported for the ftrst time from Slovenia, and another 14 are new for the Dinaric phytogeographical region. Fulgensia canariensis is transferred to the genus Caloplaca on account of its polarilocular ascospores. A detailed description of the species is given. The species, formerly thought to be strictly terricolous, also occurs on basaltic rock.
