Experimental samples of Parmeiia sulcata collected every two months in a dense deciduous forest of Mt. Amiata (Tuscany, Central Italy) were exposed to three different light regimes (50, 175 and 350 pmol photons m'2 s'1) up to 5 hours to detect possible seasonal differences in their light response. Samples collected from June to October under the tree canopy |howed strong photoinhibition already at intermediate light conditions.
