A description of Vezdaea aestivalis, V. rheocarpa and V. stipitata using low-temperature scanning electron microscopy (LTSEM) is given and the reproductive strategies of the three species are discussed. The ecological strategies of these ruderal species agree with the inherent high disturbance of their substrate and therefore (although the species are rare) the populations are by no means endangered.
