A three–day lichenological field trip to Ariège in June 2025, supplemented by several other observations, yielded 291 taxa (254 lichens and 37 non–lichenized lichenicolous fungi), including two seemingly undescribed species, one national novelty, 7 novelties from the French Pyrenees, and 88 departmental novelties. The total number of taxa in Ariège increased from 727 to 824, a significant rise, but still well below the thousand possible taxa estimated by Roux et al. (2025).
