During fungal surveys in 2023, a lichen species known as Tetramelas chloroleucus (Körb.) A. Nordin growing on tree bark was found in Raikot and Fairy Meadows, District Diamer, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. The morpho-anatomical, chemical, molecular and phylogenetic analyses were carried out to clarify the placement of this species as a new record for Pakistan. It is a new generic record that is characterized by its whitish gray to creamy, rimose thallus, having calliospora-type spores and spermatia are not found. Detailed description and figures of this Tetramelas species are provided.
