[in Spanish with English summary: ] Background and aims: Lichenized fungi are key components of Andean-Patagonian forests due to their role in nutrient cycling and their high epiphytic diversity. Among them, Pseudocyphellaria-one of the largest genera in Lobariaceae-is characterized by foliose thalli with pseudocyphellae, which generate microhabitats suitable for tardigrades. These microinvertebrates contribute to humification, decomposition, and food web dynamics. This study examined six Pseudocyphellaria species in northwestern Patagonian forests as potential tardigrade habitats. M&M: Specimens were collected from bark and rock and stored in paper envelopes. In the lab, fragments of each species were soaked in mineral water for tardigrade extraction Results: Ten of eighteen samples were positive, yielding 26 tardigrades from seven species: Antechiniscus jermani, Barbaria bigranulata, Pseudechiniscus (Meridioniscus) cf. spinerectus, Macrobiotus kazmierskii, Minibiotus sp., Mesobiotus sp., and Milnesium brachyungue. Conclusión: This is the first study in northwestern Patagonia to address the association between Pseudocyphellaria and tardigrades at the species level. It also provides an inventory of common Pseudocyphellaria from Puerto Blest and Nahuel Huapi National Park, highlighting their role as reservoirs of microinvertebrate biodiversity relevant for conservation. Key words: Microhabitat; lichen; protection; water bears.
