The lichen-vegetation in the surroundings of Stuttgart has been studied and analyzed with regard to microclimatological differences and pollution effects. It was found, that semi-natural communities are still present. But in the neighbourhood of the town, especially in northern parts, an impoverishment takes place, depending on pollution effects. Experimental investigation in the field has been made in order to proof the dependance of species on ecological factors with regard to their distribution.
