During earlier few decades, dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have gained widespread attention of scientific communities due to their valuable characteristics with respect to silicon solar cells such as low cost, environmental impact, and ease of fabrication. Dyes based on natural origin related to different types of chemical classes have been successfully utilized in DSSCs mechanisms, like-anthocyanin, chlorophyll, carotenoid, coumarins, anthraquinoes etc. In this chapter, the dimension of lichen-based dyes/extracts as DSCCs is highlighted on the basis of latest literature exploration.
