In the context of the surveys for a first atlas of the distribution of lichens in Schleswig- Holstein, numerous rare and remarkable species were recorded, including a first record of Xanthomendoza huculica, a new discovery of Cladonia parasitica as well as findings of previously very rarely recorded species such as Agonimia flabelliformis, Bacidina phacodes, Normandina acroglypta, Ramalina baltica, and Toniniopsis bagliettoana.
