S y n o p s i s : In the area of the Innerpitztal (Ötztaler Alpen, Tyrol) 337 species of lichens have been registered. 294 of them have been found in the course of the field studies for this science thesis. 44 species were already registered from HOFMANN et al. (1998). Acarospora sinopica, Aspicilia simoensis, Cladonia crispata var. cetrariiformis, Dermatocarpon meiophyllizum, Fuscidea austera, Lecidea confluescens, Orphniospora moriopsis, Peltigera elisabethae, Peltigera scabrosa, Rinodina olivaceobrunnea and Verrucaria funckii are rare species collected in the area. Acarospora scabrida, Chromatochlamys muscorum var. octospora, Haematomma ochroleucum and Micarea sylvicola could be found in the province of Tyrol for the first time.
