A replacement name Obscuroplaca for the illegitimate genus Phaeoplaca is introduced. The three known species are transferred as Obscuroplaca camptidia, O. ochrolechioides, and O. tortuca. Key words: Caloplacoideae, Chrysophyceae, Golden Algae.
