Study done on sessile oak from NW Britain. The three methods produced distinctly different results. The method chosen should be appropriate for the study being undertaken. Thus ground bark ph is adequate when bark is being considered as a bioindicator of air pollution, but may not accurately describe the pH environment of an epiphyte.
