The type material of some poorly known lichen taxa described from northern Germany has been examined and revised. Bacidia saxenii and Lecidea polycarpella prove to be distinct species. Verrucaria latericola is an earlier name for the parasitic species so far known as Verrucaria granulosaria. The following species names are stated to be synonyms (accepted names on the right): Arthopyrenia lubecensis = A. inconspicua Bacidia abscondita = B. naegelii Bacidia egenula var. crassiuscula = B. subfuscula Bacidia lehriana = B. chloroticula Bacidia micrococcoides = Porina leptalea Bacidia myriocarpa = B. myrtillicola Bacidia paulula = B. chloroticula Bacidia viridula = B. incompta Graphis neglecta = G. elegans Lecanora foehrensis = L. expallens Lecanora ossicola = L. campestris Lecanora sambucioides = L. sambuci Lecidea caementicola = Clauzadea monticola Lecidea femerensis = Lecidella stigmatea Lecidea holsatica = Micarea lithinella Lecidea lauenburgensis = Micarea lithinella Lecidea segrex = L. polycarpella Lecidea trabicola = L. fuscoatra Opegrapha danica = O. vulgata Sclerographa squalida = Opegrapha viridis Thelidium erichsenii = Sphaerulina chlorococca Thelidium hammoniense = Staurothele rugulosa Verrucaria albigensis = ?V. aquatilis Verrucaria ambronica = V. halizoa Verrucaria eidorensis = ?V. hydrela Verrucaria perareolata = V. maura Verrucaria retecta = V. aquatilis Verrucaria viridicana = V. aethiobola. Brief notes are given on the systematic position of some additional lichen species originally described from northern Germany.
